Northbound Lane of LA 27 at Ellender Bridge to be Closed for Grid Deck Replacement

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the northbound lane of LA 27 at Ellender Bridge will be temporarily closed for grid deck replacement. The closure is scheduled to take place on specific dates and times to minimize inconvenience to motorists.

According to the announcement, the closure will be in effect on Saturday, February 17, 2024, and Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Additionally, the closure will continue from Monday, February 19, 2024, through Friday, February 23, 2024, from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily.

The grid deck replacement is a necessary measure to ensure the safety and reliability of the Ellender Bridge. During the closure, flaggers will be present to direct traffic across the bridge in both the northbound and southbound directions. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow the instructions of the flaggers for a smooth flow of traffic.
