Northbound Lane of LA 27 at Ellender Bridge in Calcasieu Parish to Close for Grid Deck Replacement

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the northbound lane of LA 27 at Ellender Bridge (Mile Marker 72) in Calcasieu Parish will be closed for necessary maintenance work. The closure is scheduled to take place from Monday, February 26, 2024, through Friday, March 1, 2024.

During the closure period, which will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, crews will be working on grid deck replacement. To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, flaggers will be present to maintain traffic across Ellender Bridge in both the northbound and southbound directions.

Drivers in the area are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to expect delays while traveling through this section of LA 27. The closure is essential for the safety and maintenance of the bridge.
