Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office Expresses Shock After Learning Attorney General’s Office Not Present to Oppose Parole Release of Defendant in the KK’s Corner Triple Homicide
Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office expresses their shock after learning that the Attorney General’s Office was not present to oppose the parole release of Thomas F. Cisco, a defendant in the KK’s Corner triple homicide.
The Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office reported on February 8, 2023, that the Louisiana Parole Board had granted parole to Thomas F. Cisco, a defendant in the KK’s Corner triple homicide who pled guilty to three counts of Manslaughter.
The District Attorney’s Office recused itself from the case in February 2004, and the Attorney General’s Office has since been in charge of prosecuting it. Cisco pled guilty to three counts of manslaughter on March 26, 2010, and was sentenced to 90 years in prison. Cisco has only served 24.5 years of his sentence.
When the District Attorney’s Office learned of the February 8 hearing, they immediately contacted the Attorney General’s Office to confirm their attendance to oppose the parole release, but they were shocked to learn they were not there.
“The District Attorney’s Office vehemently disagrees with this ruling and is disappointed that the parole board is allowing this violent criminal back into our society. I am extremely disappointed that this killer, who committed such heinous crimes and was sentenced to 90 years, is being released on parole after serving only 24 years of his sentence,” said District Attorney Stephen Dwight.
