Lake Charles, Louisiana – A 22-year-old Iowa, Louisiana resident has been arrested following an investigation into the theft of multiple dirt bikes from a Lake Charles business, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO).
Jaquaileen L. Victorian of Iowa, Louisiana was taken into custody on March 27, three days after deputies responded to reports of thefts at a business located on Kirkman Street in Lake Charles. During their initial investigation, authorities discovered that four dirt bikes had been stolen, and the suspect had attempted to steal a four-wheeler, which was later recovered in the vicinity of the business.
Detectives from the CPSO Vehicle Crimes Investigation Unit (VCIU) determined that the perpetrator had cut through a fence to gain access to the property. Through collaboration with the CPSO Real Time Crime Center and Livestock Division, investigators identified Victorian as a person of interest after he was spotted riding one of the stolen dirt bikes in the Iowa, Louisiana area.
Further investigation revealed that Victorian had been captured on surveillance footage in the vicinity at the time of the burglary. On March 27, VCIU detectives located Victorian at his residence and recovered two of the stolen dirt bikes nearby.
Following questioning at the sheriff’s office, Victorian was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on multiple charges including three counts of theft valued between $1,000 and $5,000, one count of theft valued between $5,000 and $25,000, simple burglary, attempted theft of a motor vehicle valued between $1,000 and $5,000, and simple criminal damage to property less than $1,000.
Judge Tony Fazzio set Victorian’s bond at $114,500. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities indicate that additional arrests are likely.
CPSO VCIU Detective Tyler McKnight is leading the investigation.
