Calcasieu Correctional Center Transitioning to Electronic Mail for Inmates Starting in September

Lake Charles, LA – On August 24, 2022, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that they have a contract with a company to supply electronic mail services to all inmates. These modifications are being implemented in order to streamline operations, improve communications, and ensure the safety and well-being of convicts and employees, all while giving inmates with a quick and efficient way to receive letters and images electronically.

All inmate mail should be addressed to an offsite location beginning September 1st, where it will be processed and scanned into the system. A password-protected kiosk will deliver mail to inmates.

All inmate mail must be sent to the following address beginning September 1, 2022:

Seminole, FL 33775-9169

After September 15, all personal mail received at the CCC will be returned to the sender.

Friends and family are encouraged to sign up for MailGuard Tracker at https://www.mailguardtracker.com/, where you may create a free account and see the delivery status, receive notifications on rejected mail, and download copies of mail that has been received and processed. When an inmate is released, they can log in to their account at https://www.smartinmate.com/ and retrieve their messages and images.

Legal mail, court documents, bank statements, and publications will continue to be sent to the Calcasieu Correctional Center directly at P.O. Box 2017 Lake Charles, LA 70602.
