Lane Closure at Ellender Bridge in Calcasieu Parish for Grid Deck Replacement

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced an upcoming lane closure on LA 27 southbound at Ellender Bridge (Mile Marker 72) to facilitate grid deck replacement. The closure will be in effect on specific dates and times as follows:

  • 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, and Sunday, March 10, 2024
  • 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday, March 11, 2024, through Friday, March 15, 2024

During these periods, the southbound lane of LA 27 will be closed to traffic. However, flaggers will be present to maintain traffic flow across Ellender Bridge in both northbound and southbound directions.

This closure is crucial to ensure the safety of motorists and to allow crews to carry out necessary grid deck replacement work effectively. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and use alternative routes if possible to avoid delays.
