Cajun Navy Boots Over 5000 Social Media Followers for Personal Attacks and Lack of Concern for Health
Published July 17, 2020
The popular non-profit Cajun Navy known for its search and rescue efforts and other assistance during natural disasters has removed over 5,000 followers from their Facebook page for lack of concern over the health and safety of other people as well as attacks on page administrators and other members.
A statement from Cajun Navy on their Facebook page for the organization stated the following:
“We have cancelled [sic] over 5000 followers due to their lack of concern for the health and safety of human life and for outright attacks on us or others here. The hate and anger is unbelievable. We don’t think they’re evil, simply misinformed. Deeply. We harbor no political bias, ill will or grudges, we are simply doing what our hearts and guts are telling us to do. You can help us replace them with 50,000 new followers, by sharing this great post from a friend.”
The post went on to talk about COVID-19 as well as other viruses.
At the time this was published, the Cajun Navy Facebook page had 75,187 followers.
