Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 117 north of Louisiana Highway 118 on the evening of May 25, 2025. The incident resulted in the death of Emmett Greene, a 42-year-old resident of Provencal, Louisiana.

According to the initial investigation, the crash occurred at approximately 6:23 p.m. when Greene was driving a 1993 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on LA 117. For reasons that remain under investigation, the Silverado crossed the centerlines, moving into the southbound travel lane. The vehicle then collided head-on with a 2014 Ram traveling in the opposite direction.

Both drivers were reported to be properly restrained at the time of the crash. Greene, however, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The driver of the Ram suffered minor injuries and was treated on site.

As part of standard protocol in serious vehicle crashes, routine toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis. Toxicology testing helps determine if substances such as alcohol or drugs may have played a role in the incident.
