Both Bridges on LA 27 (South Beglis Parkway) in Carlyss Have Now Reopened

Published January 14, 2021

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that the southernmost bridge on LA 27 (Beglis Parkway) between Sunny Wood Drive and Ravia Road has reopened to traffic. The replacement of the southernmost bridge’s deck is complete.

Crews will begin installing new guardrails, permanent pavement markings, and laying asphalt at the approaches as weather permits. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures for the remaining work.

Crews previously completed the replacement of the northernmost bridge’s deck and reopened the bridge to traffic in October 2020.
The entire project includes the removal and replacement of both bridge decks and the installation of guardrails and permanent pavement markings. The project is expected to be complete in spring 2021 with progress dependent on weather.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through work zones and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
