Boil Advisory Issued for Parts of Sulphur Near Maplewood Drive on August 18
Sulphur, Louisiana – On August 18, 2022, the City of Sulphur announced that due to a water main break, pressure may have dipped below the required levels in parts of the city. For this reason, a precautionary boil advisory has been issued in the affected areas from Maplewood Drive to Oakley Drive and Sylvan Oaks Drive to Palermo Drive.
If you were without water in this area, run faucets until water runs clear then take precautions and boil water before consumption.
The city indicates that anyone affected should boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled).
The City of Sulphur will notify the affected areas once clear samples have been received from the State Laboratory.
