Body Found in Louisiana Near LA 1, Authorities Asking Public to Contact Them With Any Related Information

Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana – A body was found in Louisiana near LA 1, and authorities are asking the public to contact them with any information that may be related to the case.

On the evening of Monday, July 17, 2023, a body was discovered by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) in a wooded area near the Avoyelles/Rapides Parish line in Louisiana. The discovery was made adjacent to LA 1, and the Alexandria Police Department Crime Scene Unit was called to assist with the investigation. The Avoyelles Parish Coroner’s Office was also notified and responded to the scene to conduct an autopsy and toxicology screening.

Although the body has not been positively identified, it is believed to be that of a homeless man who was recently reported missing in the area. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. APSO Detectives and the Avoyelles Coroner’s Office are currently conducting a joint investigation to determine the cause and manner of death.
