Barbe High School in Lake Charles Dismissed Early on First Day of Back Due to Power Issue

Students and faculty at Barbe High School in Lake Charles were greeted by power issues on their first day back from Summer break. At around 9 a.m. on August 13, 2019, the Calcasieu Parish School Board made the announcement on their Facebook page that students at Barbe High School will be dismissed at 10 a.m. due to the power issues. Parents enrolled in the automated phone notification system should have also received information regarding this issue by phone.

From the Calcasieu Parish School Board:

“BARBE HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION – Due to a power issue with Entergy, students will be dismissed at 10 a.m. School buses will be returning to campus to transport students who ride a bus, and all other students will be dismissed at that time.”
