Authorities in Louisiana Searching For Suspect on Theft and Attempted Theft Charges in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are searching for a suspect on theft and attempted theft charges in Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Police Department’s investigative team is currently seeking the whereabouts of Calvin Bethley, a 67-year-old also known as Willie Johnson, on charges of Theft and Attempted Theft.

According to authorities, Bethley allegedly posed as Johnson and contacted a victim, claiming to have previously assisted with home renovations. Bethley then purportedly requested financial assistance due to a broken machine that affected his livelihood. After receiving an initial payment, Bethley contacted the victim again, requesting additional funds. Anyone with similar experiences is encouraged to contact law enforcement.

Authorities are asking that anyone with information on Bethley’s location contact Crime Stoppers by calling 344-STOP (344-7867), downloading the P3 Tips App, or visiting crimestoppers225.com.

Authorities indicated that all submissions are anonymous and could lead to a monetary reward.
