Authorities in Louisiana Investigating Two Armed Robberies in Lake Charles, Asking For Help Identifying Suspect

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are investigating two armed robberies in Lake Charles and asking for help in identifying the suspect.

On the evening of July 10, 2023, around 10:00 p.m., deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a convenience store located in the 1200 block of Highway 397 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The reason for their dispatch was an armed robbery incident.

Upon arriving at the location, the deputies conversed with the person who filed the complaint. The person stated that they were working in the rear section of the store when an unidentified individual walked into the store and headed toward the counter. The employee informed the deputies that when they approached the front to see what the person needed, the suspect suddenly revealed a gun from his pocket, aimed it at them, and demanded money from the cash register.

The suspect took an unknown sum of money and escaped on foot, going towards the south on Highway 397. This individual is identified as a black man, dressed in jeans, a black or dark gray hoodie, blue footwear, and a black Nike baseball cap while wearing a white surgical facemask.

After conducting a deeper examination, it was discovered that the suspect closely resembles the description of a person who is being investigated by the Lake Charles Police Department for a recent armed robbery. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on the same night. LCPD officers were sent to a convenience store located on Oak Park Boulevard in Lake Charles based on the belief that the suspect in question was involved in yet another armed robbery. During this incident, the suspect brandished a firearm and requested money from the store clerk. After successfully stealing an undisclosed sum of cash, the suspect swiftly left the scene.

Authorities are asking that anyone with any details about these thefts contact the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-491-3605 or LCPD at 337-491-1311. You may also reach out to Crime Stoppers at 337-439-2222 while maintaining anonymity.

CPSO Detective Ben Hare and LCPD Detective George Miller are in charge of the investigations for these cases.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
