Authorities in Louisiana Investigating April 2 Shooting Death in Garyville, Asking for Help From the Public
St John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are investigating an April 2 shooting death in Garyville, and asking for help from the public.
On April 5, 2023, the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that detectives are looking into a shooting in Garyville, Louisiana that killed Javant Dunn, 19, of Greensburg, Louisiana. Javant is pictured with his aunt in the featured image.
According to reports, at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023, deputies responded to a complaint in the 200 block of South Emilie Street in Garyville, Louisiana, regarding an unresponsive male laying on the ground outside a residence.
Officers arrived to find the male subject, identified as Dunn, with gunshot wounds to the body. The coroner’s office pronounced Dunn deceased at the scene. At this moment, no motive is known.
