Authorities in Louisiana Detain Juvenile in Connection with Stolen Horses and Other Items, More Arrests Expected
West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana detained a juvenile in connection with stolen horses and other items.
According to the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, February 27, 2023, detectives found two horses in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that had been stolen the night before from the Brusly, Louisiana region. Investigators were tipped off that the horses were at a home on Duke Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
When the detectives arrived at the house, they discovered the stolen horses in the yard. Another horse and stolen items from Ascension Parish were also discovered during the inquiry. At the scene, one juvenile was detained.
The horses were returned to their owners in good condition.
The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry as well as the Baton Rouge Police Department.
This is an ongoing investigation, and authorities anticipate making more arrests.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
