Authorities in Louisiana Asking the Public For Help in Vehicle Fire Investigation in Natchitoches Parish

Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are asking the public for help in investigating a vehicle fire in Natchitoches Parish.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, Deputies are investigating a burned vehicle located on Dalme Road in the Bermuda area south of Natchez, Louisiana on May 24, 2023.

Authorities said that shortly after 7:00 a.m. on May 24, local farmers discovered the charred automobile on Dalme Road, about 1/4 mile off Louisiana Highway 1220 in the Bermuda region.

Detectives photographed and analyzed the crime scene, which was attended to by deputies from the NPSO Criminal Investigations and Patrol Operations Bureaus.

According to NPSO, the vehicle looks to be a new model Volkswagen SUV, and there were no vehicle fires reported overnight, thus detectives assume the vehicle was purposely burnt.

Detectives are working to collect a vehicle identification number, but due to the substantial fire damage, other VIN stamped identification areas on the vehicle may take some time to locate.

NPSO said that they uncovered no additional evidence or human remains when searching the vehicle’s inside.

Authorities indicated that the probe is still active and anyone with any information regarding the vehicle is asked to contact Major Reginald Turner at 318-357-7830.
