Authorities in Louisiana Asking for Help Identifying Suspects and Vehicle in Intentionally Set Fire at Home in March

Acadia Parish, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are asking for help identifying the suspects and vehicle involved in an intentionally set fire in March.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office (LASFM) revealed on April 24, 2023, that it is actively seeking the public’s help with an investigation into an intentionally lit mobile home fire in Basile, Louisiana in March.

On Friday, March 24, just before 9 p.m., Acadia/Evangeline Fire Protection District responded to a fire call in the 1100 block of Dewey Loop in Basile, Louisiana. Although no one was home at the time of the fire, multiple witnesses claimed hearing an explosion.

Deputies discovered the fire was intentionally caused after assessing the site and getting video footage. They suspect at least two people are responsible.

The two suspects can be seen on the front porch of the mobile home with a small light source before a big flash of light appears on camera in the attached surveillance video. The footage then shows the two people running away from the home, seconds apart. When the fire spread inside the home, witnesses reported seeing a small, dark-colored truck drive away from the scene.
