Authorities in Louisiana Asking For Help Identifying Shooter in Shooting That Wounded a Teen
Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are asking for help in identifying the shooter responsible for the shooting that wounded a teen.
The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) announced on May 10, 2023, that detectives are investigating a nighttime shooting just south of Natchitoches, Louisiana.
According to NPSO reports, on the evening of May 9, 2023, at 9:43 p.m., Deputies assigned to the Patrol Operations Bureau and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS responded to NATCOM 911 Center reports of a male being shot while attempting to enter his home in the 200 block of Franklin Lane, just south of Natchitoches, Louisiana.
When deputies arrived, they discovered an 18-year-old male suffering from non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. Investigators from the NPSO Criminal Investigations Division came to help patrol deputies examine the crime scene, gather evidence, and interview potential witnesses.
The victim was taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for treatment before being moved to a regional trauma facility.
According to detectives, multiple shell casings were discovered at the crime scene.
Authorities said the suspect or suspects fled the scene shortly after the shooting.
