Authorities in Louisiana Asking For Help Identifying Person Responsible For Early Morning Homicide on Cotton Street in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are asking for help in identifying the person responsible for an early morning homicide on Cotton Street in Baton Rouge.

The recent death of a 52-year-old man due to gunshot wounds is being investigated by the Baton Rouge Police Homicide Detectives. The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 am on July 19, 2023, in the 900 block of Cotton St.

The Baton Rouge Police Uniformed Officers became aware of the situation upon receiving a ShotsSpotter Activation indicating gunfire. Upon arrival, the victim was found and transported to a local medical facility with a gunshot injury; unfortunately, the victim later lost his life due to the severity of the injury sustained.

The identity of the victim has not yet been revealed pending notification of the family.
