Authorities in Louisiana Asking For Assistance Identifying Persons Involved in Drive-By Shooting That Reportedly Targeted a Waste Connections Employee

Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are asking for assistance in identifying the persons involved in a drive-by shooting that reportedly targeted a Waste Connections employee.

The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) stated on April 27, 2023, that on April 26, about 12:00 p.m., the Avoyelles 911 Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a drive-by shooting by an unknown person(s) on LA 114 west of Mansura, Louisiana. Deputies from the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) and officers from the Mansura Police Department arrived at the location.

Further investigation by the APSO showed that the drive-by shooting occurred on the roadway in the 6000 Block of Hwy 114, Mansura, Louisiana. At least three gunshots were reportedly fired at a Waste Connections employee by a subject with a semi-automatic rifle described as an AK-47-type firearm.

The gunfire did not strike anyone.

Investigators from the APSO are investigating the shooting and attempting to identify the shooter or shooters. The car is described as a newer model black car, possibly a Honda Civic like the one depicted in the featured image.

According to the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office, there is no current evidence that this drive-by shooting is related to the one that occurred on April 25, 2023, in Simmesport, Louisiana.
