Authorities in Louisiana Arrest Two Suspects and are Searching for Two Others Involved in Theft and Endangering Motorist

Ascension Parish, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana have arrested two suspects and are searching for two others involved in a theft and endangering motorist.

On March 30, 2023, Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre reported that deputies are searching for Christopher Landon “Lando” Zachary, 26. A warrant for his arrest has been issued for Zachary for the charges of resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, and felony theft.

Deputies from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an off-road vehicle theft at a property in Sorrento, Louisiana, around 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29. Authorities reportedly noticed a truck matching the description of the suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over; however, the driver, Christopher Zachary, refused to comply. After colliding with a ditch, the suspect vehicle was abandoned.

Four people exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Sunny Lander, 21, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Alayna Reach, 19, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, were both captured immediately. They were both arrested and taken to the Ascension Parish Jail. They face criminal trespass, felony theft, and resisting an officer charges.

Zachary and a fourth currently unidentified person were still on the loose at the time this was published.

Zachary is a known violent offender who is considered armed and dangerous according to authorities.
