Authorities in Louisiana Arrest 13-Year-Old For Allegedly Making Threatening Remarks About a School in Lake Charles

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana have arrested a 13-year-old for allegedly making threatening remarks about a school in Lake Charles.

On May 4, 2023, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) revealed that on Wednesday, May 3 at approximately 11:00 a.m. deputies were notified in reference to a student who attends Southwest Louisiana Charter Academy allegedly making threats.

During the initial inquiry, deputies discovered that a 13-year-old child allegedly made threatening remarks about shooting up the school and shooting students. Following further investigation, the boy was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on terrorizing/menacing charges.

Detective Clay Planchard of the CPSO is the case’s principal investigator.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
