Authorities in Calcasieu Parish Release Results of DWI Checkpoint Conducted on September 2
Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on September 6, 2022, that on Friday, September 2, CPSO conducted a DWI checkpoint at 668 North Perkins Ferry Road in Lake Charles, Louisiana (Moss Bluff) to target those driving under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.
According to authorities, five hundred and eleven vehicles were checked; two field sobriety tests were administered; one citation was issued for no seatbelt, and two citations were issued for expired motor vehicle inspection stickers.
The following individuals were arrested or issued a signed summons and released:
Brooke N. Vaughn, 32, Lake Charles, Louisiana was arrested for DWI 1st
Breanna P. Fontenot, 26, Sulphur, Louisiana was arrested for possession of marijuana
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police Troop D, and the Lake Charles Police Department all took part in the checkpoint.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
