Authorities in Beauregard Parish Report Tornado Damage and Flooding, Residents Asked to Stay Clear of Areas with Damage or Flooding
Beauregard Parish, Louisiana – During the evening on January 24, 2023, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office (BPSO) reported that they responded to tornado damage on the southern end of the parish in the Ragley, Louisiana area near Highway 171.
BPSO is asking residents to be mindful of being out and about in the area and to keep the damage in mind when considering traveling in the area. Authorities indicated that there are multiple roads blocked, power lines and poles down, and heavily damaged homes and other structures with debris covering a lot of Beauregard Parish.
BPSO indicated that they have a heavy presence in the areas that suffered damage and are assisting the best that they can so residents should keep in mind if they contact the BPSO office needing a deputy, response time may be delayed.
BPSO also reported that they are receiving reports of multiple areas where water over roads is occurring along highways 171, 394, and 113. Authorities also indicated that they expect more reports of flooding on the east side of Beauregard Parish.
The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office also said that if you do not need to be in an area that experienced damage or is flooded, please avoid traveling in those areas if possible.
