Update:

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has reported that the original suspect in a Moss Bluff theft case may be the victim of a reshipping scam.

Last night, the person in the photo attached to the original report went to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and spoke with detectives. She appears to be the victim of a re-shipping scam at this time. She had signed up for a job online to pick up items and have them reshipped, according to further research. She received an email from a shipping firm informing her that the shipment was ready for her to pick up. The organization emailed her instructions on how to pick up the item, as well as a copy of the first victim’s (the package owner’s) identification. The company also indicated in the email that they will issue her a shipping label to ship the box at a later date. The woman in the photo has been cooperative with investigators and is aiding in the investigation of this alleged scam.
At this time, there is no additional information to release. The investigation is still underway.
