Union Parish, Louisiana – The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office (UPSO) has arrested a 29-year-old Louisiana inmate after he escaped a work-release detail.

On February 7, 2023, the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that they were seeking the whereabouts of 29-year-old Ike Jermeze Strickland after he walked away from his work-release detail at the Marion Fire Department at approximately 7 AM in Marion, Louisiana.

Deputies spent the morning searching for Strickland in Marion, Louisiana, and surrounding areas. After an extensive investigation, information obtained by UPSO Criminal Investigations Division detectives indicated that the escapee was likely no longer in the Marion area.
