Attack on Louisiana School Bus Driver Results in the Arrest of One Suspect, Authorities Searching For Another
Baton Rouge, Louisiana – One suspect has been arrested for attacking a school bus driver in Louisiana, and authorities are searching for another.
On April 27, 2023, the Baton Rouge Police Department reported that Detectives have issued an arrest warrant for Brittany Banks, 34 for her alleged involvement in the attack of a school bus driver that occurred on April 25, 2023. Banks is suspected of Battery of a School Bus Driver, 2nd Degree Battery, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
On April 26, Baton Rouge Police Major Assault Detectives arrested Carlicia Lewis, 18 for allegedly attacking a school bus driver on April 25, 2023, around 5:31 pm in the 4600 block of Bradley St.
Lewis and another subject were called to the scene after a student on the bus had a verbal argument with the driver. Lewis, the other subject, and the student reportedly physically attacked the driver who was sitting in the driver’s seat of the bus.
The driver received multiple injuries to her head, neck, and shoulder area.
Lewis was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 2nd Degree Battery of a School Bus Driver and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
This is an ongoing investigation.
