As of December 15, 2022, at 2:45 pm, some AT&T customers in Southwest Louisiana indicated that they now have service.
Original:
AT&T customers remain without service in Southwest Louisiana due to damaged fiber cables. On December 15, 2022, AT&T indicated that two of their fiber cables that serve Southwest Louisiana and parts of Central Louisiana were recently damaged. Workers are currently working to repair the lines and at the time this was published, AT&T had provided an estimated restoration of December 16.
The AT&T Service Outage Information page returns the message "Looks like there is a network issue in this area that may affect your mobile service quality. We expect things to be back to normal by 12/16/2022." for most locations in Southwest Louisiana, as well as some locations to the east of the area.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office also indicated that their phone lines are out of service and incoming calls cannot be received at this time. It is not known how long it will take to repair the problem.
In an announcement, CPSO said that to reach the Sheriff’s Office for non-emergencies please call (337) 602-6801. For all emergencies, please call 911 and those calls will be routed to the Sheriff’s Office.
