At Least Two Shot and One Dead at Toledo Bend Resort in Louisiana, Authorities Asking For Help From Public in Investigation

Sabine Parish, Louisiana – At least two people have been shot and one person has died at Toledo Bend Resort in Louisiana, and authorities are asking for help from the public in their investigation.

According to the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a disturbance involving many individuals and firearms at Toledo Bend Resort (previously Southern Leisure) near Toledo Town, Louisiana, at 1:00 a.m. on May 7, 2023.

According to reports, upon arrival, it was discovered that at least two people had been shot. Personal automobiles were used to bring both victims to Sabine Medical Center. One of the victims died at Sabine Medical Center, while the other was taken to Rapides Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

At the time this was published, the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office indicated that this is an active investigation that is still underway.

In a release, Sabine Parish Sheriff Mitchell requests that everyone consider the deceased’s family, as well as the other victim and family, in their prayers.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
