Arrest Made in Child Exploitation Case in Calcasieu Parish: Man Custody for Alleged Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – On May 31, detectives from the Special Victims Unit at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report about inappropriate conduct involving a minor.

Detectives were informed during the investigation that Leeroy S. Hymel III, aged 38 of Robert, Louisiana, was sending sexually explicit images and messages to a girl who was under the age of 15. Following additional scrutiny, detectives obtained a warrant for Hymel’s arrest on July 12.

Hymel was found in Robert, Louisiana on July 15 with help from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. When questioned by detectives, he reportedly admitted to the accusations against him. He was then taken into custody, charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile, and held in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on a $250,000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio.

The primary detective working on this case is Alexander Vincent from CPSO.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
