Alert Officer in Louisiana Stops Armed Robbery at ATM, Suspect Arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Shreveport, Louisiana – An alert police officer in Louisiana stopped an armed robbery at ATM, and a suspect was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Shreveport Police Department revealed on April 11, 2023, that on April 7 at 1:20 p.m., an officer working security at a local financial institution in the 500 block of Market Street reportedly noticed an encounter taking place at an ATM located outside the business. As the officer approached two individuals at the ATM, he noticed a male asking for money from another man.
As the suspect began to take a knife from behind his back, the officer acted quickly. The suspect was apprehended and identified as Jon Gonzalez, 22.
Gonzales was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The Shreveport Police Department thanked Corporal Phan for his prompt and decisive response.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
