Alabama Resident Indicted in Louisiana Court for Possessing with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine Faces Possible Life Sentence

Louisiana – U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced today that Quincy White, age 41, and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, was charged on March 11, 2022, in a one-count indictment by a federal grand jury with possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A).

According to the indictment, on October 24, 2020, White was in possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it. If convicted of Count One, White faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison, a fine of up to $10,000,000, at least five years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.

The indictment, according to U.S. Attorney Evans, is merely a charging document, and the defendant’s guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office all looked into this case. Assistant United States Attorney David Howard Sinkman is in charge of the prosecution.
