Alabama Man Sentenced in Federal Court in Louisiana to More than 15 Years After Buying Methamphetamine From Authorities in a Controlled Transaction

Louisiana – An Alabama man has been sentenced in federal court in Louisiana to more than 15 years in prison after buying methamphetamine from authorities in a controlled transaction.

On April 20, 2023, U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that Quincy White, age 43, a resident of Alabama, was sentenced in a federal court in Louisiana on April 18, 2023, to 188 months (15 years, 8 months) imprisonment, 5 years of supervised release, and a mandatory $100 special assessment fee by U.S. District Judge Greg G. Guidry. WHITE had previously pled guilty to a one-count indictment charging him with possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A).

According to court filings, federal and local authorities conducted a controlled delivery of 970 grams of pure methamphetamine to White on October 24, 2021. The delivery took place in a Home Depot parking lot in LaPlace, Louisiana. Upon his arrest, He acknowledged paying $10,000 for the packages of “methamphetamine” found inside the spare tire of the vehicle he was driving.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office all looked into this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman of the Narcotics Unit handled the prosecution.
