Adult Male and Juvenile Suspects Arrested in Connection to Home Invasion and Pointed Gun at a Resident
LaPlace, Louisiana - An adult male and a 16-year-old male juvenile suspect have been arrested in connection with a home invasion in which they forced entry into a residence and pointed a gun at a 38-year-old female victim.
On December 16, 2022, the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office reported that a LaPlace man and a 16-year-old male juvenile from LaPlace were arrested on December 15, 2022, in connection to a home invasion.
According to authorities December 15, at about 10:15 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 400 block of Elm Street in LaPlace in reference to a male subject, later identified as Jordan Duhe, 18, forcing entry into a residence and pointing a gun at the 38-year-old female victim.
Officers discovered upon arrival that the victim was sleeping when she heard the loud sound of a door being kicked in. The victim told deputies that while exiting her bedroom, she observed a male in the hallway of her home pointing a firearm at her. As she retreated and locked herself in a bedroom, the offender exited the house. Officers immediately began searching the neighborhood for the culprit. Following a brief foot pursuit, Duhe and a juvenile accomplice were captured.
The victim remained unharmed. The Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Bureau of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) aided officers in recovering a stolen firearm from the residence.
Through their investigation, officers determined that Duhe, the minor, and an unidentified third party were responsible for the home invasion.
The charges against Duhe included resisting an officer and home invasion. Duhe's bail has not yet been set.
The 16-year-old was booked with home invasion and resisting an officer.
Detectives continue to investigate the identification of the third suspect. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is urged to contact the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS (8477) or Captain Brandon Barlow of the Criminal Investigations Division at 504-494-2688.
