Additional $46 Million in Funding for Southwest Coastal Louisiana Hurricane Protection Project Announced by Congressman Clay Higgins
Louisiana / Washington, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins of Louisiana announced that the US Army Corps of Engineers will allocate an additional $46 million for the construction of the Southwest Coastal Louisiana Hurricane Protection Project under the Infrastructure Act. The project comprises 4,700 square miles of coastal restoration and storm mitigation in Calcasieu, Cameron, and Vermilion parishes.

We have long prioritized funding for water management and storm mitigation efforts, including the Southwest Coastal Louisiana project,” said Congressman Higgins. “I secured language in the 2018 Water Resources bill prioritizing this project for construction, and my office has advocated for funding through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers since coming to Congress.”
