A Stabbing and Burglary Has Been Reported in Maplewood

At approximately 12:25 a.m. on February 18, 2019, the following was posted in a public Facebook group.

My mother was attacked at her own home in Maplewood about an hour ago. She thought she heard my stepdad return from the store so she walked out of the back door to meet him and there was a man with a beard, about 25, tall, wearing a hoodie going through the storage room out back. When they saw each other he began stabbing and beating her until he finally fled. Police have been notified.(parts redacted) And for everyone who lives in the area, please be cautious.

It has also been reported that the victim was taken to a local hospital and will recover from the attack.
