A Louisiana Man Has Been Killed in A Head-On Motorcycle Vs Truck Crash on LA 107
Louisiana – On August 28, 2022, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 107 at Louisiana Highway 115 Cutoff Road at around 1:15 p.m. Robert D. Reich, 70, of Forest Hill, Louisiana was killed in the crash.
The initial inquiry found that Reich was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson southbound on Louisiana Highway 107. Reich’s vehicle crossed the centerlines into the northbound travel lane and collided head-on with a northbound 2021 Ford F-150 for unknown reasons.
Reich, who was wearing a helmet, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver and passenger in the Ford F-150, who were both restrained, were unharmed. Toxicology samples were collected and submitted for testing.
While the reason for this crash is still being investigated, distracted and inattentive driving remains a significant cause of accidents in our state. Louisiana State Police advises all motorists to drive cautiously. A failure in judgment can have fatal repercussions.
Troop E has investigated 30 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 32 deaths.
