Westlake, Louisiana - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development plans to close the right lane of the Interstate 210 flyover ramp from the Interstate 10 eastbound exit ramp to I-10 at the Prater Road overpass in Westlake for one night in late February.

According to the agency, the right lane will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026. The work is scheduled as an overnight project to reduce impacts on daytime traffic.

The I-10 eastbound exit and the Pete Manera exit will remain open during the closure, allowing drivers to continue to access those routes while crews are on site.

Transportation officials said the closure is needed to erect missing light poles in the area. The work is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve roadway lighting on major routes, which helps drivers see more clearly at night and during poor weather.

The job will be conducted weather permitting, meaning the schedule could change if conditions are unsafe for crews or equipment. No detour routes were announced, and only the single right lane on the ramp is expected to be affected during the stated hours.

Drivers using I-10 and I-210 near Westlake during the closure window should be prepared for possible slowdowns on the flyover ramp and are encouraged to allow extra time for travel, especially in the late evening and early morning.
