Lake Charles Police: More Than $100K In Drugs, Guns Seized From Southwood Drive Apartment

Lake Charles, Louisiana - Lake Charles police say a Lake Charles man was arrested after a large quantity of suspected illegal drugs and several weapons were seized during a search of his apartment following an anonymous tip.

According to information released by the Lake Charles Police Department, detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force received an anonymous complaint on Feb. 12, 2026, about a package allegedly being delivered to an apartment on Southwood Drive in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The complaint claimed the package possibly contained illegal narcotics and was associated with resident Jeremy Carron.

Search Warrant and Investigation

Detectives began an investigation following the complaint. Police said that, through investigative efforts, detectives developed probable cause and then obtained a search warrant for the residence on Southwood Drive.

The warrant was executed at the Southwood Drive apartment, and officers reported locating a variety of suspected illegal narcotics, drug-related items and firearms.

Items Seized in Lake Charles Drug Investigation

During the search, detectives reported seizing the following:

  • 180 dosage units of Farmapram (Alprazolam)
  • 14 dosage units of Orphenadrine 100 mg
  • 35.5 pounds of marijuana
  • 19.24 pounds of THC wax and gummies
  • 35 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms)
  • One vacuum sealer
  • One Glock 26 9 mm handgun, serial number DSA571
  • One Ruger .22-caliber rifle, serial number 84005671
  • One modified suppressor

Investigators estimated the combined street value of the seized marijuana, THC products, psilocybin and other narcotics at more than $100,000.

Weapons Located With Drugs

Officers also reported seizing two firearms and a modified suppressor from the apartment: a Glock 26 9 mm handgun and a Ruger .22-caliber rifle. The presence of firearms in connection with alleged drug activity can lead to additional criminal charges under Louisiana law.

Police stated that the suppressor found at the scene was believed to be unregistered or illegally transferred, which is prohibited under both state and federal firearms regulations. A suppressor, sometimes called a silencer, is a device attached to or part of a firearm that reduces the sound and visible muzzle flash when the weapon is fired.

Charges Filed Against Lake Charles Man

Following the search, Jeremy Carron was arrested and booked on multiple charges related to controlled dangerous substances, weapons and paraphernalia. The listed charges include:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute (marijuana)
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (psilocybin)
  • Possession of a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (alprazolam)
  • Possession of a legend drug (orphenadrine)

No additional suspects or arrests were mentioned in the information released by authorities.

Bond Set at More Than $1.4 Million

The Lake Charles Police Department reported that the Honorable Judge Tony Fazzio set Carron’s bond at $1,412,000.

Role of the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force

The Combined Anti-Drug Task Force, which led the investigation, is described by authorities as a collaborative effort made up of local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Its stated mission is to target and disrupt the trafficking of illegal substances within Calcasieu Parish.

Such task forces often pool resources and share intelligence, allowing agencies to coordinate investigations that cross city, parish or even state lines.
