Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - Reese “Skip” Broussard secured a dominant lead in the race for Louisiana’s 37th Representative District, drawing 67 percent of the vote in unofficial results that include all precincts reporting.

District 37 stretches across parts of Calcasieu Parish and Jefferson Davis Parish. According to the latest totals, all 34 of 34 Election Day precincts have reported, along with early and absentee ballots from both parishes.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, the unofficial tally stands at:

  • Reese “Skip” Broussard (Republican): 3,621 votes — 67%
  • Ivy Woods (No Party): 1,687 votes — 31%
  • Coy G. Myers (Republican): 90 votes — 2%

A total of 5,398 votes were cast in the contest, reflecting an unofficial turnout of 19.3 percent in the district.

These figures show Broussard with more than double the votes of his closest opponent, Ivy Woods, and a wide margin over the third candidate, Coy G. Myers. The numbers indicate a clear advantage for Broussard among participating voters in this legislative race.

District 37 Spans Two Southwest Louisiana Parishes

Louisiana’s 37th Representative District covers parts of Calcasieu Parish and Jefferson Davis Parish, linking communities in southwest Louisiana under one state House seat.
