MOSS BLUFF, La. — A section of Debra Lane in Moss Bluff will be closed for nearly three months as crews work to replace a cross-drain pipe, according to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury.

The closure affects Debra Lane between Crawford Drive and Belfield Road. Parish officials say the road will be closed starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, and is scheduled to remain closed until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 24.

The project involves replacing a cross-drain pipe, which is an underground pipe that allows water to flow beneath the roadway. Cross-drains are a key part of local drainage systems, helping move stormwater away from streets and nearby property to reduce flooding and prevent long-term damage to the road surface.

During the closure, drivers will not be able to travel directly through the affected section of Debra Lane. The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury advises motorists to use a marked detour route that includes Gateway Drive, Crawford Drive, Debra Lane outside the work zone, and Belfield Road.

The Police Jury also notes that the closure schedule could be affected by inclement weather. Drivers should be prepared for possible changes in the reopening date if weather delays occur.

Residents and commuters who regularly use Debra Lane are encouraged to plan extra travel time, follow posted detour signs, and use caution in the area.
