Walker, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on November 26, 2025, on LA 447 at Rougk Lane in Livingston Parish. The incident resulted in the death of 47-year-old Jeremy Grubbs of Walker, according to information released by Louisiana State Police Troop A.

Troopers say the preliminary investigation shows that Grubbs was walking south in the southbound lane of LA 447 when the crash happened. At the same time, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on the same highway. For reasons that remain under investigation, the front passenger side of the Silverado struck Grubbs while both were in the southbound lane.

Grubbs suffered serious injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not release additional details about his position in the roadway beyond the fact that he was walking in the southbound lane.

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was properly restrained and reported no injuries, according to State Police. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the incident.

Investigators do not currently suspect impairment as a factor in the crash. However, in line with standard investigative procedures, routine toxicology samples were collected from those involved and will be analyzed. Toxicology tests typically screen for alcohol and drugs to help determine whether impairment played any role.

The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop A. No charges or citations have been announced at this time, and authorities have not released the identity of the driver.

LA 447, where the incident occurred, is a state highway in Livingston Parish that sees a mix of local and commuter traffic, including during early morning hours. Pedestrian crashes on such routes can be especially severe because of vehicle speeds and limited protection for people on foot.
