Lake Charles, Louisiana - The City of Lake Charles has released a comprehensive schedule of Veterans Day events for 2025, featuring a veterans outreach event and an annual memorial celebration.
The Mayor's Armed Forces Commission, in partnership with the Alexandria, Louisiana Veterans Center, will host a Veterans Outreach Event on Saturday, November 1, from 9 a.m. to noon inside the Lake Charles Event Center Coliseum at 900 Lakeshore Drive. The free event welcomes veterans and their families to connect with vendors offering services specifically designed for former military members.
Attendees should bring necessary documentation, including discharge paperwork, medical records, or proof of identity, as some services may require verification.
The city's official Veterans Day Celebration will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Lakeshore Drive. Major General Keith Waddell, who served in both the United States Army and Louisiana Army National Guard before retirement, will deliver the keynote address. The program will also include a musical tribute honoring all branches of the military.
Multiple organizations have partnered to sponsor the events, including the City of Lake Charles, The Johnson Firm, Port of Lake Charles, Neurosurgery Consultants, Cascio Sports & Orthopaedics, Optimum, Acadian Ambulance Service, Chick-fil-A, CHRISTUS/Ochsner, Lindsay Cutler State Farm, Lake Charles Toyota, Ward 3 Marshal's Office, and Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.
