Vinton Man Arrested On Multiple Sexual Assault Charges After Police Investigation, Held On $840,000 Bond

Vinton, Louisiana - The Vinton Police Department has arrested a 25-year-old local resident on multiple serious charges following a sexual assault investigation that began September 17, 2025.

Gauge Anderson, 25 of Vinton, Louisiana, faces charges including First Degree Rape, Aggravated Battery, and Second-Degree Sexual Battery after police established probable cause during their investigation. Anderson was taken into custody on September 18, 2025, one day after the initial report was filed.

According to the police department's report, the investigation revealed that the victim suffered both sexual violence and multiple physical injuries during the incident. The case prompted an immediate response from law enforcement, who worked to gather evidence and identify the suspect.

First Degree Rape represents the most serious sexual assault charge under Louisiana law, typically involving aggravated circumstances. Aggravated Battery involves the intentional use of force or violence that results in serious bodily injury. Second-Degree Sexual Battery encompasses sexual contact without consent under specific circumstances.

Following his arrest, Anderson was processed and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. A judge set his bond at $840,000, reflecting the serious nature of the multiple charges he faces.

The Vinton Police Department has not released additional details about the incident, which remains under investigation. Sexual assault cases often involve ongoing investigations as law enforcement works to build comprehensive cases for prosecution.
