Holden, Louisiana - A deadly two-vehicle crash on Highway 190 in Livingston Parish claimed the life of a 66-year-old Bogalusa, Louisiana man Monday evening, according to Louisiana State Police.

Raymond Hanner Sr. of Bogalusa, Louisiana, died at the scene after his 2000 GMC Yukon XL collided with a tractor-trailer that was backing into a private driveway, state police reported. The crash occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. on September 8, 2025, on U.S. 190 east of LA 441.

Louisiana State Police Troop A investigators determined that a 2011 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling west on Highway 190 when the driver stopped and began backing into a private driveway on the eastbound side of the roadway. At the same time, Hanner was driving east on the same highway in his GMC Yukon XL.

The preliminary investigation shows the Yukon struck the left rear portion of the tractor-trailer, causing the SUV to overturn. Hanner was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was partially ejected from the vehicle during the collision.

Three passengers were inside Hanner's vehicle when the crash occurred. Two adult passengers who were properly restrained sustained serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. A juvenile passenger who was improperly restrained suffered minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital.

The driver of the Peterbilt tractor-trailer was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

State police have not determined whether impairment played a role in the collision. As part of standard protocol, investigators collected routine toxicology samples for analysis.

The crash remains under active investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop A. Investigators have not released additional details about what may have caused the collision between the eastbound SUV and the backing tractor-trailer.
