Lake Charles, Louisiana - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced an immediate closure of the right lane of LA 385 Northbound (Gulf Highway) between Hill Road and Bennett Road, near Mile Marker 9.5, in Lake Charles. The closure will remain in effect until further notice as crews perform essential roadway maintenance. DOTD will provide updates when the lane is reopened, according to its official statement issued Wednesday morning.

LA 385, also known as Gulf Highway, serves as a major route for both local and through traffic, connecting residents and businesses in southern Lake Charles to surrounding communities.

Motorists traveling through the affected stretch are advised to expect delays, particularly during peak morning and evening hours. DOTD encourages all drivers to plan alternative routes if possible and observe posted signs and any changes in traffic patterns.
