Vernon Parish, Louisiana - A fatal one-vehicle crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 463 near Moore Road on the evening of July 21, 2025, resulting in the death of a Pitkin, Louisiana resident. Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to the scene at approximately 9:00 p.m., where they found that 57-year-old Brian Perkins was the sole occupant and driver of a 2017 Ford F-250 involved in the incident.

According to initial findings, Perkins was traveling northbound when he failed to navigate a left-hand curve on the highway. The vehicle then left the roadway, struck the ditch embankment, and rolled over multiple times. Officials noted that the circumstances leading to the failure to negotiate the curve are still under investigation, and contributing factors have not yet been finalized.
