Lake Charles, Louisiana - A video circulating on social media has drawn significant attention in Lake Charles, Louisiana, after it captured an incident that occurred in the parking lot of a local bar on June 21, 2025. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory released a statement addressing the footage, which prompted over 150 comments in less than a day as residents sought clarity on what unfolded that night.

The short video clip, widely shared, appears to show a person on the ground in a parking lot with multiple CPSO deputies on top of and around the person shouting commands. Many viewers expressed concern and confusion, with numerous comments asking why the incident happened and one commenter asking whether additional footage exists to shed light on moments leading up to the recording.

Sheriff Guillory, whose office regularly responds to public inquiries and emerging issues within Calcasieu Parish, acknowledged the video and emphasized that the incident is being investigated.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory stated, “We are aware of a video circulating on social media showing an incident that occurred in the parking lot of a local bar in Lake Charles.
Deputies responded to multiple calls at the location in the early morning hours of June 21, regarding fights and a large crowd of people loitering in the parking lot. While attempting to disperse the crowd, deputies encountered an individual who was told multiple times to leave the property. The incident in question occurred as deputies attempted to take him into custody.
This incident was forwarded to our Internal Affairs Division earlier this week, prior to the video being released on social media, for a full investigation. Internal Affairs is reviewing the totality of the situation to ensure our deputies acted appropriately and in accordance with CPSO policies and procedures.
At this time, two deputies have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Being placed on leave does not imply wrongdoing. If the investigation determines any policy violations or wrongdoing occurred, appropriate action will be taken.”

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
