Rapides Parish, Louisiana – Louisiana State Police Troop E is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred in the early morning hours of June 18, 2025, on Louisiana Highway 28 at Navy’s Way in Rapides Parish. The incident resulted in the death of 22-year-old Nicholas J. Baggett of Boyce, Louisiana.

According to initial reports, the crash happened around 5:00 a.m. Baggett was traveling westbound in a 2013 Ford Mustang when the vehicle failed to negotiate a left-hand curve.
